Its pleasing to see India netting the best medal haul in Asian Games. 14 gold medals! This is much better than the 38 CWG gold medals with the added baggage of CWG scam and loot!

It rained a lot on my last day in Ankola. Fortunately we had kept no plans of venturing out on that day. Roaming out in the town or on the beach was all done and dusted! So it was time to relax and play some Scrabble!

This is an old picture that I am uploading. I had clicked many pictures of these flowers. Actually they are weeds and spread across quite fast. But by looking at the beautiful flowers I would never have thought that they belong to weed category! So there you see - nothing in nature is unwanted!

That's how it looks when one is at the top! Is it a picture of loneliness or a picture of utter domination? Two sides of the same coin!

The picture is of a kite sitting on a pole on the neighboring terrace. I will post some more pictures clicked on this particular evening. The sky had adorned so many colors although you can see only orange in this frame. It was quite picturesque!

Jokes apart actually she was quite demure and sweet feline! She just appears to be angry which she was not! I love cats and dogs. They are one of the best companions around! Don't you agree?

In the backyard at Ankola, there are many Jasmine creepers. There is one that is a little different having flowers with purple spots. And they attract lot of ants!

So many controversies this time! The central government with its 2G Telecom scam and now the different state gov controversies which began with Maharshtra's Adarsh scam and now Karnataka contributing its share! The CWG scam is already there for months now! Media has been licking its lips.

This time when I had been to Ankola for Diwali I went on a photography spree :) Wish I had a DSLR, lot of lenses and filters! Anyway it did not stop my Canon SX120 from its adventures! :))

I had to run a lot behind this dragonfly and many shots went without much success. Hope this one is decent enough! Notice the yellow reflectors on the wings :)

Alas the Diwali festival got over last week! The diyas, the candles, the colorful fancy lanterns, the lighting across towns and cities, gifts, sweets, Diwali wishes, friends, families, fireworks in the skies and on the streets! This Diwali vacation was fun! But what the heck! New year celebrations are not too far away! Yay!
